hello.

 links to inspire

I’m a girl who has a fascination with anything old. A pack rat who collects the cast-off’s of another era. A student of fashion and modes. These have all combined into a driving force behind my creativity; a need to express my vision through my handcrafts and design work.

My love of fashion, vintage and sewing have influenced me greatly in all areas of creativity. I learned how to sew at a very young age, and was fortunate to apprentice with Jennie Chancey in my late teens. Putting my skills of sewing and pattern making to use, I have learned how to create garments for myself--often refashioning existing pieces I've thrifted! 2008 is the year in which I decided to conduct an experiment to abstain from purchasing mass-produced clothing. Its been a wild ride, often challenging, but enjoyable and has forced me to stretch my creative horizons further!

I've begun to explore the idea of "something old, something new" through not only my sewing, but graphic and web design work as well. I'm currently enrolled in a visual communications program, and have been blessed to be able to do freelance work in that area. I love to communicate client's aesthetics through a style I've dubbed "Vintage Modern". Pulling on my vast array of antique and vintage ephemera for inspiration, I create unique and fun graphics and layouts. Be sure to visit my portfolio for peeks at past projects.

My interests do not end there; I love many areas of design and art and frequently discuss them at my blog. Drop by and visit to see what I'm up to!
